Workers’ compensation helps people who are injured get the medical care they need and sometimes get an income while they are off work due to the accident. There are several considerations that are used to determine if an injury is compensable.
One of the most important points to remember is that the injury must have occurred over the course of a person doing his or her job duties. This includes duties that take place off the normal job site. For example, if a person gets hurt at an expo event that was work-related, he or she would qualify for benefits.

Employers might try to claim that a worker isn’t covered under workers’ compensation. This usually is just a ploy to not have to pay benefits. Georgia law stipulates that all employees have to be covered. Employees mustn’t be required to pay for coverage as this is considered a normal expense for a business.
If you are injured at work or suffer from a work-related injury, you should make sure that you know your rights. You might have to file an appeal if you don’t get the benefits you are due. This has to be done quickly, so make sure you read every notice you receive.
