2 different wrecks lead to fatalities in Georgia

Georgia has seen its fair share of deadly accidents as summer begins, with two recent deadly crashes on the same day. That day was June 4, a Tuesday.

The first accident happened right around 2 p.m. At least two people were riding in a 2007 Toyota Camry. One of the passengers was a 17-year-old boy.

For reasons that are not clear, the driver left the road while navigating a curve. The white sedan slammed into a tree. Both the driver and the teen suffered from injuries that were bad enough for the emergency crews to rush them to Navicent Health. The 17-year-old ended up in the intensive care unit (ICU) and died around 10 a.m. the next day.

Hours later, a man was riding in a truck that was transporting a ladder. It fell off of the vehicle and into the road. The 54-year-old man got out and tried to get the ladder back. In the process, he got "hit by several cars." His injuries were so severe that he died at the crash site, without even arriving at a hospital.

Both of these cases show just how sudden and surprising deadly car accidents can be. Minutes and even seconds before the wrecks, it's safe to assume that both the teen and the man thought they would get home safely that night. Neither one did. All it takes is a split second for everything to change.
